BAFTA 2016 Red Carpet and Winners!

The EE BAFTA Film Awards 2016 was held last night in London’s Royal Opera House at Covent Garden. The event which has been running for 10 years has become one of the most prestigious events in the movie industry.

BAFTA nominees Ctae Blanchett, Kate Winslet and our very own Saoirse Ronan were in attendance. Cate turned heads as she arrived in a colourful, glitzy gown. The actress was nominated for the award of Leading Actress for her role in the romantic drama Carol. The top half of her dress was covered in colourful jewels in a flower pattern and the top half was a full black feathered skirt.

Kate Winslet showed off her enviable curves in a tailored black dress which featured an asymmetric sleeve. She accessorised with a drop earrings and a red clutch. Her hair was worn in beautiful waves. Kate won the Supporting Actress for her role in Steve Jobs.

Saoirse Ronan wore a long glitzy floral gown and completed her look with a statement jeweled necklace. Her makeup was on trend with a strong contour, winged eyeliner and thick brows.

No story about this year’s BAFTA would be complete without mentioning Leonardo Di Caprio who won Best Actor for his role in The Revenant. He stole our hearts as he thanked his mother; ‘And lastly there’s one person I have to thank, I would not be standing up here if it wasn’t for this person. I didn’t grow up in a life of privilege, I grew up in a very rough neighbourhood in east Los Angeles. This woman drove me three hours a day to a different school to show me a different opportunity. It’s her birthday today, mom happy birthday. I love you very much’.
