One of the hardest things I found when planning my wedding was deciding on what hairdresser to book.
Its difficult when you don’t know whether your going to were your hair up or down so you don’t know whether to look for someone whos great at up-styles or someone who does a great blow dry? Its also difficult to know do you go with a hairdresser that specialises in bridal hair or the hairdresser your comfortable with who you’ve been going to for years?
Hairdressers, like make up artists ( if your looking to book a wedding make up artist check out a blog post I did on this a few weeks ago – Choosing your wedding makeup artist) book up extremely quick like some up to two years in advance so these are the kind of decisions you need to get on top of asap.
So in order to help you out, I have done all the research for you, check out some of my top wedding hair hairdresser recommendations.
1. Joanne Kelly – josiehearts.com
After lots and lots and lots of research I decided to book Joanne Kelly for my wedding next year and I could not be happier with my choice. Every bride I chatted to over the last few months knew who she was and had her on their wish list for their big day.
She is based in Dublin and is known for her bridal hair as well as having many high profile celebrity clients including the lovely Pippa O’Connor Ormond. Her portfolio is so impressive that once I found her and I just prayed that she would be available on my date.
I havn’t actually met Joanne yet but from emailing her and following her on social media and on her blog she seems so so nice which for me is a big thing as on your special day you want to be working with people who are not only professional but also nice and easy to get on with.
She is at the top of her game when it comes to bridal hair and beyond a doubt one of the very best in the business.
I can’t wait for her to work her magic on me 🙂
2. Ceira Lambert – ceiralambert.com
Ceira Lamberts hair salon is based in Shankhill in Dublin and is known all over Ireland and the UK for the work they do. I recently experienced their service myself when I go my Gold Fever Hair extensions done there, they are fantastic and I couldn’t recommend them highly enough. The staff are all so lovely and the best in their field.
With a celebrity client list as long as her arm, including Georgia Salpa, Rosanna Davison, Una Healy, Vogue Williams, Michelle Heaton to name a few its no wonder they are at the top of any brides to be list.
3. Cathriona Rohan – cathrionashairsalon.com
I have known Cathriona for a few years now and she is not only great fun and a pleasure to be around she is also the cream of the crop when it comes to hair.
Cathriona and her team , who are based in Kerry, are multi award-winning not only on a national level but internationally as well. She really is the best at what she does and comes highly recommended by anyone who has had the pleasure of getting their hair done by her.
Cathriona travels nationwide and has worked on numerous weddings, fashion shows, magazine shoots and TV shows. She also styles celebrities on a regular basis celebrities including Storm Keating, Miriam O Callaghan and Celia Holman Lee.

Another hairdresser who seems to pop up on every brides wish list is Carla Rose. Carla is the co-owner of The Space salon in Drumcondra. Two of my friends who are brides to be next year booked Carla for their wedding and couldn’t be happier with their choice.
One of the more well-known bridal hair dressers in Dublin Carla has made quite a name for herself and has won numerous awards for her work including Irish Hairdresser of the year. She comes highly recommended by Rosanna Davison and her portfolio speaks for itself.
